TEACHING
I have been teaching assistant for many environmental geoscience courses, such as Geography of the Natural Environment, Geomorphology, and Soil Morphology and Classification. In addition to my role as a teaching assistant, I was the instructor for a Soil Morphology/Classification course for both 2011 and 2015 fall semesters at New Mexico State University. I have also taught geoarchaeology workshops to local cultural resource management firms. I not only have teaching experience in a classroom setting, I have also been a guest lecturer for a plant ecology field trip at NMSU where I taught undergraduates about soil-landform-plant relationships. I have also lead several field trips for undergraduate and gradate students at the White Sands Dune Field for an ecology course at New Mexico State, Stephen F. Austin State University’s Geology Field Camp and University of Arizona’s Pedology Class. STUDENT MEMTORSHIP: 2018 – Co-advising NMSU graduate student. Topic: The impact of Little Ice Age on the Prehistoric Cultures of NM. SCIENCE EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: 2012 to 2014– Trained and managed 2 undergraduate students for soil research projects in field settings (NMSU). 2015 – Mentored an student studying UAV mapping and photogrammetry for documenting arch sites (NMSU). 2018 – Taught archaeology students basic soil geomorphology concepts and local stratigraphic terminology (NMSU).
